There are a few terms thrown around CookieCon! Use this page to help you find the definition of a term you might be wondering about.
Classes not included in CookieCon Ticket. Each class is purchased separately, and each instructor sets their own price. They take place on Wed and Thurs of the CookieCon week.
These are open to all and are first-come-first-served on seating. They are held in classrooms in a lecture-style setting on Saturday of CookieCon with seating for about 120 attendees.. The full schedule of these breakouts is published in the printed program.
These are the classes that all attendees go to in rotation on Friday, taught by Core Instructors. Attendees choose a Class Track and rotate through with their group.
Attendees can choose up to 2 of these optional, specialty hands-on experiences, which are included with their full Attendee Ticket. These are smaller classes where a specific skill or technique is taught.
Not a Breakout, not a Demo, but something that happens where all are invited. These may include Orientation, Cookie Tasting, Vanilla Smelling, Book Signings, etc.
These stations are set up for drop-in playing and experimenting with products and/or equipment. They are not manned on Friday, but will be manned on Saturday, where at least one Attendee Volunteer or Staff will be at each station at all times to help facilitate learning.
These are open to all and are first-come-first-served on seating. All are located in the Open Decorating room. Demonstrators may include Attendee Volunteers, sponsors, and/or vendors.
Check-in at CookieCon where Attendees receive their swag bag, registration materials, program, etc.
These are social parties and games hosted by several of our CookieCon Sponsors. They are held Friday night from 8-10,and all CookieCon Attendees are invited.
These are the teachers of the Wed and Thurs Add-On Workshops.
These are full Attendees who have volunteered to do Breakouts, Open Demos, and/or operate Open Decorating Stations. They are generally separate from Purple Apron Helpers.
These are the Instructors who teach the classes on Friday that Attendees rotate through.
Full-time CookieCon staff, who help with all aspects of the event.
They teach the Friday and Saturday Elective Classes that Attendees sign up for when they register.
These are Attendees who assist our core staff. They are usually class group leaders on Friday, help in Open Decorating on Saturday, and help in various capacities other days.
Businesses who have donated product for swag bags, classroom prizes, and/or raffle prizes, OR have donated cash for Sugar Show Prizes, etc. Some Sponsors are also Vendors.
People who have a booth and sell at CookieCon. Some Vendors are also Sponsors.
Full Attendee with all benefits.
Student who has ONLY registered for Add-On Workshops. While they do not receive all the benefits of a full CookieCon Attendee, they DO get a 2-day Shopper Pass wristband, and can go to vendors on Thursday (in addition to Friday and Saturday).
Shopper who has purchased the 2-day Shopper Pass and are only admitted to the vendor hall on Friday and Saturday with their wristband.
The order (or schedule) in which groups of Attendees see Core Instructors. Attendees can choose a Class Track when they register, or will be assigned if they do not choose.
