Frosty the Snowman Cookie Jar! (Wed AM)

The holidays are always a festive time of year to decorate, but what if your decor were edible?! That's right - this cookie jar is fully edible and filled with even more cookies! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create your very own 3D holiday-themed cookie jar, filled with an assortment of mini cookies. Not only will you gain hands-on experience, but we will also cover the basic steps to plan, design, and execute 3d cookies.

I will demonstrate the process of assembly, and then together we will shape, sculpt, and decorate our 360 degree cookie jar. Each jar has a removable lid, and holds mini cookies inside, just like a real cookie jar! All tools necessary will be provided, along with a booklet covering our techniques we use in class. I will have a photoshoot area so you can get beautiful photos for social media before traveling! You'll leave class with a grab bag containing some of the tools we use in class, your booklet, and boxes to carry your cookies in for safe travels home.

What to Expect:
  • I will teach you the same process I use when I start planning 3d designs
  • We will talk about the structure of 3d cookies, and how to use a soft sugar cookie for support
  • I will walk you through step-by-step shaping and carving your cookie jar
  • We will learn how to apply royal icing to curved surfaces and still get a flood-like finish
  • We will talk about royal icing and the proper consistency to sculpt three dimensional detail
  • We will sculpt our details and learn how to smooth out and blend icing for a clean, finished look
This class is ideal for bakers of all skill levels who are interested in venturing into 3d cookies! No previous experience decorating is required. Some steps will require repetitive motion and grip strength, but we can offer some assistance as needed.

Kid’s Meal (Wed AM)

Appropriate for all decorating levels

You don’t have to be under 12 to enjoy this kid’s meal! In this hands-on class, students will be recreating favorites from a typical restaurant kid’s menu, but in cookie form! Using just a cookie base, royal icing, wafer paper and a few special tricks, you’ll be amazed at how much these treats look like their real counterparts. Cookie designs include dinosaur nuggets, grilled nuggets, mac n cheese, broccoli, apple slices, and chocolate chip cookies. This class is loaded with awesome techniques that can be applied to endless other cookie designs. Students should have a solid foundation of basic icing skills (piping and flooding) and a willingness to embrace the freedom and joy of textured cookies. Once at home, the decorating fun can continue! You’ll have access to a class workbook with templates, supply lists, and a review of each design!

It's all in the details!! In this class we will focus on all of the small details that bring an entire set together. We will work on small elements and how to make them pop on top of a larger cookie. We will really focus on icing skills and how to achieve smooth icing in separate sections on each cookie. Just look at all the details on that sneaker!! We will flood it all in on top of the cookie and create all of those small separate sections at one time to minimize the amount of time you have to wait for each section to dry completely. You'll be able to apply all of these techniques to each and every set you work on once you get back home!

This class is also all about how to transform a basic cutter shape into something fun and creative. It minimizes the amount of cutters you need to buy so you can add these fun elements to a basic cookie cutter shape. Join me for a fun 80's themed class as we decorate the 4 cookies pictured below.

In this class we will:

French Fleurs (Wed AM)

Classic, elegant, and dainty florals paired with a French inspired Pastry shop. This class is a perfect add on if you’re hoping to learn or master royal icing flowers. In this class, we’ll focus on florals and spend the drying time detailing and watercoloring this 9” pastry shop cookie.

We’ll pipe multiple blooms of 5 different floral varieties: Large Garden Roses, Peonies, Lisianthus, Anemones, and Hydrangeas.

While the flowers are drying, we’ll add some watercolor details to the cookie and transfer details. Then we’ll pipe on puffy leaves before we place the flowers onto the cookie.

Here’s an overview of what we’ll cover:
  • Creating Floral Icing Consistency
  • Creating a variegated color icing
  • Creating a piping bag system for florals
  • Piping instructions and practice of multiple of each of the variety of flowers
  • Adding watercolor details to the cookie and transfers

Succulent Garden Showpiece & Competition (Wed All Day)

Join me in the first of its kind hybrid class & competition rolled into one! It’s an ALL-DAY EVENT (class is 8 hours w/break for lunch), at an extremely affordable price! Open to all skill levels, although you will need basic knowledge of decorating sugar cookies. Everyone is welcome from beginners to master pros. Part of our day will be focusing on releasing our individual creativity for the competition & part of our day will focus and require teamwork in small groups.

A timed, judged cookie decorating competition with non-monetary prizes & awards will kick off our day with excitement! During the second part of our new hybrid class, we will create individual succulent gardens. Each of the individual succulent gardens will be placed on display together to form a large showpiece. Immediately following class, we will construct the class showpiece, and it will remain on display, as an event showpiece, during the CookieCon Sugar Show. Your pieces will be individually labeled for later pick-up ease. They will be released for pick-up when the Sugar Show competition pieces are picked up. Boxes for travel provided when you pick-up your succulent gardens.

In order to keep the competition fair, there will be beginner, intermediate, advanced & pro categories, so you will be competing in an appropriate skill level. Your beautiful 3-D succulent gardens will express your personal design creativity after in-person & video class instruction. The holidays are always a festive time of year to decorate, but what if your decor were edible?! That's right - this cookie jar is fully edible and filled with even more cookies! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create your very own 3D holiday-themed cookie jar, filled with an assortment of mini cookies. Not only will you gain hands-on experience, but we will also cover the basic steps to plan, design, and execute 3d cookies.

I will demonstrate the process of assembly, and then together we will shape, sculpt, and decorate our 360 degree cookie jar. Each jar has a removable lid, and holds mini cookies inside, just like a real cookie jar! All tools necessary will be provided, along with a booklet covering our techniques we use in class. I will have a photoshoot area so you can get beautiful photos for social media before traveling! You'll leave class with a grab bag containing some of the tools we use in class, your booklet, and boxes to carry your cookies in for safe travels home.

What to Expect:
  • I will teach you the same process I use when I start planning 3d designs
  • We will talk about the structure of 3d cookies, and how to use a soft sugar cookie for support

You don’t have to be under 12 to enjoy this kid’s meal! In this hands-on class, students will be recreating favorites from a typical restaurant kid’s menu, but in cookie form! Using just a cookie base, royal icing, wafer paper and a few special tricks, you’ll be amazed at how much these treats look like their real counterparts. Cookie designs include dinosaur nuggets, grilled nuggets, mac n cheese, broccoli, apple slices, and chocolate chip cookies. This class is loaded with awesome techniques that can be applied to endless other cookie designs. Students should have a solid foundation of basic icing skills (piping and flooding) and a willingness to embrace the freedom and joy of textured cookies. Once at home, the decorating fun can continue! You’ll have access to a class workbook with templates, supply lists, and a review of each design!

It's all in the details!! In this class we will focus on all of the small details that bring an entire set together. We will work on small elements and how to make them pop on top of a larger cookie. We will really focus on icing skills and how to achieve smooth icing in separate sections on each cookie. Just look at all the details on that sneaker!! We will flood it all in on top of the cookie and create all of those small separate sections at one time to minimize the amount of time you have to wait for each section to dry completely. You'll be able to apply all of these techniques to each and every set you work on once you get back home!

This class is also all about how to transform a basic cutter shape into something fun and creative. It minimizes the amount of cutters you need to buy so you can add these fun elements to a basic cookie cutter shape. Join me for a fun 80's themed class as we decorate the 4 cookies pictured below.

Classic, elegant, and dainty florals paired with a French inspired Pastry shop. This class is a perfect add on if you’re hoping to learn or master royal icing flowers. In this class, we’ll focus on florals and spend the drying time detailing and watercoloring this 9” pastry shop cookie.

We’ll pipe multiple blooms of 5 different floral varieties: Large Garden Roses, Peonies, Lisianthus, Anemones, and Hydrangeas.

While the flowers are drying, we’ll add some watercolor details to the cookie and transfer details. Then we’ll pipe on puffy leaves before we place the flowers onto the cookie.

Get your beach life Zen on and explore dimensional piping, texture, and a variety of transfers to make cookies that are as fun to make as they are beautiful to look at. We’ll use multiple techniques to go beyond simple flooding to create cookie canvases with texture and interest. You’ll learn about icing structure and consistency to produce dimensional features that we’ll enhance with color dusting techniques to create a lobster that is ready to crawl right off the cookie. You’ll also play with royal icing, fondant, and isomalt transfers to create detailed cookies that come together super quick. Throw in some micro-piping and brush embroidery for good measure, and you have a cookie set bursting with techniques that will glow up and speed up your cookie designs. To make sure you get the perfect picture of your creations, I’ll have a photo staging area and go over some of my favorite photo tricks.

In this class, you will get to personalize your very own doll (down to her eye and hair color), and play fashion designer, while creating 3 different looks, complete with accessories.

I will be sharing the joy of mixed media cookie decorating and teach you some of my favorite techniques and tips and tricks as I walk you through each design step by step. Learn how to model fondant to create voluminous folds, use lace mats to make edible lace, play with different consistencies of royal icing to pipe, sculpt and create texture. Halloween is always a spooky good time of year to decorate, but what if your decor were edible?! That's right - this cookie jar is fully edible and filled with even more cookies! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create your very own 3D holiday-themed cookie jar, filled with an assortment of mini cookies. Not only will you gain hands-on experience, but we will also cover the basic steps to plan, design, and execute 3d cookies.

I will demonstrate the process of assembly, and then together we will shape, sculpt, and decorate our 360 degree cookie jar. Each jar has a removable lid, and holds mini cookies inside, just like a real cookie jar! All tools necessary will be provided, along with a booklet covering our techniques we use in class. I will have a photoshoot area so you can get beautiful photos for social media before traveling! You'll leave class with a grab bag containing some of the tools we use in class, your booklet, and boxes to carry your cookies in for safe travels home.

What to Expect:
  • I will teach you the same process I use when I start planning 3d designs
  • We will talk about the structure of 3d cookies, and how to use a soft sugar cookie for support

Welcome to this sweet birdie abode! In “Home Tweet Home” we’ll be creating a 6”x6” birdhouse cookie composition made of multiple cookie and icing layers. Each layer is thoughtfully designed to enhance the rustic nature and dimensional depth of the overall piece. Decorating techniques include textured royal icing, delicate royal icing transfers, painted details, and shading with dry brushed powdered food colors. In addition, we’ll be using templates to cut two specialty “tips” on tipless bags to create royal icing poppy flowers and textured bird feathers. Video and live instruction will help demonstrate hand/wrist movement and pressure piping, and templates will assist in achieving intricate cuts on the tipless icing bags. This class is loaded with awesome techniques that can be applied to endless other cookie designs. Students should have a solid foundation of basic icing skills (piping and flooding) and a willingness to embrace the freedom and joy of textured and rustic cookies. Get ready for wedding season and join me in creating this huge floral bouquet. This cookie is over 9" wide and will be filled with blooms, 3-D leaves, and puffy leaves. Then we'll finish it all off with an edible ribbon bow.

We’ll pipe multiple blooms of 4 different floral varieties: An open bloom Peony, an Anemone, a Scabiosa, and mini cosmos. Then we'll pipe some 3-D leaves in a variety of styles.

While our flowers and leaves dry, we'll add puffy leaves and stems to our cookie and tie a bow with edible ribbon. Then we'll put the whole thing together!

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create your very own 3D holiday-themed cookie jar, filled with an assortment of mini cookies. Not only will you gain hands-on experience, but we will also cover the basic steps to plan, design, and execute 3d cookies.

I will demonstrate the process of assembly, and then together we will shape, sculpt, and decorate our 360 degree cookie jar. Each jar has a removable lid, and holds mini cookies inside, just like a real cookie jar! All tools necessary will be provided, along with a booklet covering our techniques we use in class. I will have a photoshoot area so you can get beautiful photos for social media before traveling! You'll leave class with a grab bag containing some of the tools we use in class, your booklet, and boxes to carry your cookies in for safe travels home.

Welcome to this sweet birdie abode! In “Home Tweet Home” we’ll be creating a 6”x6” birdhouse cookie composition made of multiple cookie and icing layers. Each layer is thoughtfully designed to enhance the rustic nature and dimensional depth of the overall piece. Decorating techniques include textured royal icing, delicate royal icing transfers, painted details, and shading with dry brushed powdered food colors. In addition, we’ll be using templates to cut two specialty “tips” on tipless bags to create royal icing poppy flowers and textured bird feathers. Video and live instruction will help demonstrate hand/wrist movement and pressure piping, and templates will assist in achieving intricate cuts on the tipless icing bags. This class is loaded with awesome techniques that can be applied to endless other cookie designs. Students should have a solid foundation of basic icing skills (piping and flooding) and a willingness to embrace the freedom and joy of textured and rustic cookies. Once at home, the decorating fun can continue! You’ll have access to a class workbook with templates, supply lists, and a review of each part of the design!

Get ready for wedding season and join me in creating this huge floral bouquet. This cookie is over 9" wide and will be filled with blooms, 3-D leaves, and puffy leaves. Then we'll finish it all off with an edible ribbon bow.

We’ll pipe multiple blooms of 4 different floral varieties: An open bloom Peony, an Anemone, a Scabiosa, and mini cosmos. Then we'll pipe some 3-D leaves in a variety of styles.

While our flowers and leaves dry, we'll add puffy leaves and stems to our cookie and tie a bow with edible ribbon. Then we'll put the whole thing together!

** Special Note: This class will be using COMPUTERS! You will need to bring a fully charged computer and a charger to class. We will be using Canva (I have the Pro Version, but I will show the free version steps as well). For the Eddie, this class will be more PC based using BarTender. I will still be able to share the MAC version using Swift Publisher, however, the majority of the class demos will be using BarTender.

Spring baking is filled with fluffy cakes, sweet cream, and of course, lots of berries!

In this berry sweet baking class, you'll be whisked away into a spring baking world filled with realistic berries, a gorgeous dessert, and glamorous gold baking tools all made using royal icing.

You'll be decorating four standard sized cookies and one mini cookie (because who doesn't love a mini?) with royal icing and learning lots of fun and useful techniques along the way to create these realistic and beautiful cookies to take home!

In this 4-hour class, we'll...
  • Create three types of realistic berries using royal icing
  • Use piping tips to create ruffles
  • Mix and use gold luster dust to paint
  • Learn tips and tricks for wet-on-wet technique and creating straight lines
  • Pipe and apply royal icing transfers
  • Practice reading cutter designs to pipe line work without a projector
  • Make realistic details like brown sugar and whipped cream!
Although this class will be fast-paced, all skill levels are welcome, and I will have lots of support built-in, including time for one-on-one instruction, demonstration, visuals, videos, and a detailed workbook. My goal is to have everyone walk out with beautiful cookies!

Unleash your creativity and capture the essence of your furry friend in cookie form in this Layered Pet Portrait class! Pet Portraits are one of my most requested orders and I’ve streamlined my process to create efficient but captivating cookies of cats and dogs that can be individual pieces, parts of a custom set or re-produced by the dozen. Throw them in a layered frame like these two and you have a couple of showstoppers to add to your portfolio!

In this class, you’ll learn how to transform a pet’s likeness into a beautifully detailed and edible work of art. We’ll explore:
  • Selecting the best photo to capture the pet’s likeness and how this can differ breed to breed
  • Creating reference artwork for your cookie
  • Color strategies to allow for shadows and highlights
  • Creating dimension and depth with royal icing
  • Enhancing the portraits with painted shading and details
  • Techniques for adding intricate details like fur textures, eyes, and facial features
  • Best practices for baking layered cookies
  • Design tips to bring personality and charm to your pet portraits
While we’ll be making the pictured pet in this class, you’re welcome to bring a photo of your own for the artwork portion of the lesson!

You’ll leave this class with two layered pet portraits (one cat and one dog), a step-by-step workbook of the portrait process, provided tools, the knowledge to apply these techniques on your own and some great swag!

Skill Level – Intermediate; we won’t be focusing on basics so some experience with royal icing is recommended.
